Since it began in 1990, the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation has proudly supported the efforts of Canadians who are dedicated to the well-being of our environment. Some of these friends include:
- an orphaned wildlife facility that helped heal injured birds of prey and educated the community about threats to these species;
- a "floating" classroom for 200 high school students provided a first-hand experience of ecological issues that affect our country, inspiring a new generation of environmentalists; and,
- an urban wetland was restored to its former health attracting a diverse range of wildlife back to the city.
How you can contribute
For as little as $2.00 a month, you can join the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and lend your support to projects that will benefit your community and the Canadian environment.
As a contributor, all of your donations go toward projects supported by your local TD Friends of the Environment Foundation Chapter — so you'll be able to see results in your community. TD makes your monthly donations go further by contributing $1 million per year to the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. In addition to this contribution TD covers management and administrative costs associated with the foundation, so your donation stays within your community.
For donations of $10 or more per year, you will receive a charitable tax receipt for your contributions.
Help recommend projects for funding.
As a contributor to the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, you can become a member of your local Advisory Board and help recommend which projects are supported through your local Chapter. Throughout the year, dedicated TD Canada Trust customers and employees review applications from local groups and organizations. There are more than 110 local advisory boards across Canada.
