Police forensics is an exciting and rewarding career! Be responsible for locating, isolating, collecting, analyzing, comparing and identifying crime scene evidence (primarily in a lab) and testifying in court as an expert witness. Background usually includes an emphasis in Criminal Justice and/or Forensic Science.
Education Requirements:
A high school equivalency diploma is the minimum requirement, though an undergraduate degree in Criminology or Forensic Science is strongly recommended. Knowledge and experience in the classification and positive identification of fingerprints through the use of an automated fingerprint identification system is also an asset.
