X-ray technologists assist radiologists and help in patient care. You use highly sophisticated equipment to produce images of internal body structures or systems. Comfort with highly technical machinery and computers as well
as human anatomy, physiology and other scientific areas is essential.
Education Requirements:
A three- to four-year university, hospital or accredited program in diagnostic radiography is required. Following your degree. you must get certified by the Canadian Association of Medial Radiation Technologists (in all provinces except Quebec). A period of supervised practical training is also necessary to gain experience.
Job Prospects:
The growth rate for the medical industry is expected to be above average due to a growing, aging population that requires frequent health services, and new diagnosing/treating technologies. This is expected to
lead to continued and increased government funding for health care.

The average salary for a Canadian x-ray technologist is approx. $43,555. With experience, you may be promoted to supervisor or instructor, with your salary following your upward progress.
