Every course requires a certain reading list over the semester, but packing your shopping cart with cellophane-wrapped textbooks can quickly break a student’s wallet. Often a used textbook will be available for half the price of a new one. Used textbooks are often in great condition, and you might even find some useful notes from its previous owner in the margins! Of course, if you live in residence or a student-heavy apartment building, chances are you’ll find someone who can lend you the books you need if you’re willing to do a little legwork. That’s what friends are for!
